Kerstin Vokinger is a research collaborator with PORTAL and a Professor of Law and Medicine at ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich, where she serves as Academic Chair for Regulation in Law, Medicine and Technology. Her research addresses questions at the intersection of law, medicine, and technology, with a focus on regulatory sciences.
In 2022, Vokinger received the Swiss National Latsis Prize, the country’s most prestigious award for researchers under 40, for her interdisciplinary work in law, medicine, and technology. Her research has also been supported by an Eccellenza Grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation, among other funders.
Vokinger studied law (JD) and medicine (MD) in parallel at the University of Zurich, where she later received her PhD in law (Dr. iur.) and completed a habilitation in medicine. She also holds a Dr. med. from the University of Basel and an LLM from Harvard Law School. She was previously a postdoctoral fellow with PORTAL, a visiting researcher at Harvard Law School, and Assistant Professor of Public Law and Digitalization at the University of Zurich.
